Which relationship exists between Worship and Socialization?

Which is the meaning of places for worship and places for socialization today? It is not physical but conceptual: they co-exist (exist simultaneuosly), trying not to invade each other’s space. There must be a connection area between socialization spaces and sacred ones, like a filter, like a passage, where people can recognize the characteristics belong to both of them.

In the communication two people look at each other, in the praying two people look at the same thing, the object of their prayers. There is an interior communication, so the wor- ship needs a silence place.

Entering the building space the visitor gradually pass from noise to silence, through panels and rotating portals that create interference. The city axises create a cross that allow the two main entrances of the block. From one side you enter the sacred space, from the other side you enter a public, open space. The project is mainly composed by three blocks: the main, bigger one, the church, is the arrival destination of this metaphorical “ascent” to the sacred place. In this big sized building there is the perception of a calm and quiet place where to come into contact with oursel- ves and God.
