Studies made by Piranesi on Hadrian’s Villa in the Eighteenth century showed that the planning system of the whole site was based on four main directions and three hinges. The first project step is to collocate the fourth hinge and so the pavilion with the same project principle: on the hill that overlooks the Canopo, close to the existing museum. Above this area and underground there are traces of an ancient criptoportico, that are useful to put the limits for the project. The main idea is to create two courts, one private and property of the SPA and the other public, using the old and existing elements (the museum and the criptoportico) as barriers. Both a thermal and an exposition system include a path: passing through the pools from different temperatures and enjoy a sequence of art pieces. Then the project consistes of long corridors vault shaped that allow the entrance in small spaces of pools characterized by different grades of light.
