This project is an experiment art gallery developed in height and located in an empty and small lot in Milano. The building is divided into six floors and except for the main hall and the rooftop, the other levels are flexible in their functions and services: for example the basement could be dedicated both to archives and exhibitions.
The title comes from the choice of creating individual areas but connected with corridors and stairs, this could help managing the placement of temporary exhibitions. Starting from a rigid grid of pillars, the façades develop with outgoing and incoming volumes that follow the facets of the levels and allow sunlight to enter the floors below. The rooftop was designed as an open space for events where the visitor can relax while enjoying the view and the greenhouses. Lastly, the colored resin flooring connects the ground floor of the art gallery with the closest sidewalks, the nearby square and the internal courtyard.
The project also developed “Uno, nessuno, centomila”, a contemporary art exhibition with choice and collocation of the art pieces in the different levels of the building.
